Jupiter in Sagittarius – Have faith and belief in your vision

Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, and known as “the Greater Benefic” in astrology, enters his home sign of Sagittarius on 8 November, 2018 for the first time in 12 years, not leaving until 2 December 2019. He is staying 13 months in his domicile or home sign, so for those of you who are Sagittarians (born November 22/23 to December 20/21 of any year), or who have Sagittarius or the other Fire signs (Aries and Leo) prominent in your chart, this is the time to make the most of this transit of luck and good fortune.

Jupiter goes retrograde for around 4 months next year, starting on 11 April 2019 at 24° of Sagittarius then goes direct again on 12 August 2019, at 14° of Sagittarius, so if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) at these degrees, you will feel the effects of this transit more as Jupiter crosses it or them three times rather than one.

The previous three cycles when Jupiter was transiting Sagittarius were from:

  • November 2006 until December 2007,
  • December 1994 until January 1996, and
  • December 1982 until January 1984

Themes from your life during these periods may again be echoed during this current period.

Jupiter represents expansion, wisdom, belief, faith, trust, abundance, growth, opportunity, travel, education, philosophies, journeys and exploration. He rules where we seek to expand our horizons, broadening our vision by moving further afield.

Jupiter is a social planet, ruling the laws governing life, such as morals and ethics, and is concerned with the big picture and a higher perspective.

Sagittarius is a Mutable Fire sign. Sagittarius is the spirited, instinctive and intuitive flame which keeps adapting and moving, like a grass fire running up a hill. Impulsive and restless, Sagittarius is the sign of adventure, optimism and enthusiasm, and is freedom-loving and outgoing.

Where will you take your journey and place yourself in the wider meaning and context of life over the next 13 months?

Where Jupiter falls in your chart by house (area of life) over the next 13 months will indicate the area opening up for you:

Eighth house: Meaning, depth and truth of emotional intimacy. Beliefs, ethics, morals – issues may arise around these areas. Death, inheritances, wills, legal issues with joint property or other resources.
