Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, is no longer Prince Andrew or the Duke of York, Earl of Inverness or Baron Killyleagh, having the princely style, titles, honours and knighthoods removed by his older brother, King Charles (Charles III) on 30 October 2025. This was due to the prolonged controversy surrounding Andrew’s involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.
The ‘big 3’ – Sun, Moon and Rising sign
Andrew was born on 19 February 1960, at 3:30pm in London, United Kingdom (please see chart below with transits commencing 1 November 2025). Andrew’s ‘big 3’ is a combination of the Watery realm of feelings and emotions, with enthusiastic, inspirational Fire. He has an intuitive Pisces Sun and a deep, passionate, intense Scorpio Moon (in its Fall position), with regal Leo rising. The Ascendant or Rising sign is where the ancients saw the spirit meeting the body. With Leo rising there is a need to shine, and to be recognised and even applauded.
Chart Ruler in Pisces
His chart ruler is the planet that is the domicile lord (ruler) of the rising sign. This is the Sun (planetary ruler of Leo) in Pisces, taking us back to the element of Water. Andrew’s sensitive Pisces Sun is in the 8th House of death, and other people’s material resources such as inheritances. Not surprisingly, his identity (Sun) is connected with family legacies, and while he did not directly inherit money or possessions from his parents due to tax rules, he is currently in line to firstly receive a six-figure sum to cover his move from Royal Lodge in Windsor to private accommodation in Sandringham, Norfolk, and then an annual stipend after this to prevent overspending in his new commoner life. His only income at present is his pension from his navy days, believed to be approximately 20,000 pounds per year.
Mercury in Pisces
Communication planet Mercury is also in Pisces (in it’s Exile) in the 8th House of endings, where he may be interested in researching and learning about the hidden areas of life, including death and the mysteries of life which include the occult or metaphysical world. Communications could also be fraught with confusion, misunderstandings, and his rational, reasoning mind informed by his creative imagination, intuitive nudges and feelings.
An example of difficult communication is his stepping down from royal duties since his disastrous interview on BBC Newsnight on 16 November 2019. Interestingly, the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s recent posthumously released book, “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice“, speaking out about her sex trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell as a minor, including Andrew’s involvement, precipitated his stripping of titles. Mercury, co-present with the South Node and Sun in the 8th house has ended and released his identity as a Prince. Further, the recent eclipse on 14 March 2025 was conjunct his North Node in Virgo, and the South Node in Pisces is ruled by Jupiter in Sagittarius; illuminating that it is time to to face the consequences of his actions.
Most positive planet in the chart
Being a day birth as the Sun is located above the horizon, adventurous and expansive ‘greater benefic’ planet Jupiter (traditional ruler of Pisces), is in his Domicile or home in Sagittarius. He likes doing things in a big way. It is in the 5th House of pleasure, romance, recreation and play, assisting in earning Andrew the reputation of being a playboy, known as ‘Randy Andy.’ To the ancients, this house/place was connected with sex, pleasure, children and creativity.
Most negative planet in the chart
Planet Mars, the ‘lesser malefic’ is the most negative planet in a day chart. Mars represents severing and separating, cutting away, war, conflict and strife. Mars in Andrew’s chart is in Capricorn in the 6th House of daily work and routines, and subordinates. Mars in Capricorn however is strong in his sign of Exaltation where he is can be ardent, vigorous and hard working in attaining success in both work and sexual conquests. Andrew was previously involved in military service, including the Falklands War.
Saturn in Capricorn
Military service is also supported by responsible, traditional, conservative Saturn being placed in the sign of its Domicile, Capricorn, also in the 6th House, showing ambition for authority and security, and being practical and organised. This is a work planet in a work house. Being a member of the Royal family, there are also rules, boundaries and restrictions on behaviour.
Saturn is the planet which is the known as the ‘greater malefic’ and whilst not as malefic as it could otherwise be if it was in a night chart, and is in his ‘home’ sign, he still rules barriers and saying ‘no’; he negates, rejects, denies and excludes. Andrew has now been excluded from his daily duties (see projection year below).
Mars conjunct Venus
The planets of war (Mars) and love (Venus) are conjunct. Considering his sexual pursuit of women, relationships can involve competition, passion and impulsiveness, possibly ending up in love triangles. Venus in Capricorn is cool and reserved. Sex (Mars) can also be connected to money (Venus). Transiting Mars recently conjunct his natal Moon made an exact opposition to the fixed star Algol in Taurus, in the 10th house of career and public or social standing. He has, ‘lost his head.’ Mars currently transiting the 4th house is the severing from the home and family.
Current Transits
Uranus square Sun, opposite Moon
Uranus, planet of shock, disruption, separation, detachment, breakdowns and breakthroughs, has been transiting Taurus in Andrew’s 10th House of career and social standing, for the past almost seven years, bringing a revolution, and sudden and unexpected change to this area of life.
Saturn and Neptune in Pisces
Transiting Saturn in Pisces, the planet of ‘reaping what we sow’, is squaring the fun-loving Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 5th house, where there are restrictions and ‘real’ consequences for actions and overdoing things. Saturn conjunct ‘idealistic’ transiting escapist-loving Neptune in Pisces too is dissolving the structures in his life, and is also squaring expansive Jupiter. This is the harvest time for Andrew.
6th House profection year – a time-lord technique
Traditional astrologers examine profection years which activate a particular area of life cycling from one birthday to the next, depending on your age. At 65 years old, Andrew is in a 6th house profection year, ruled by Saturn which is the planetary ‘Lord of the Year’, while also being contained in the natal 6th house, together with the Mars/Venus conjunction.
The Fallen Scorpio Moon sextiles the Mars/Venus conjunction by aspect natally, and the Moon rules his Cancerian 12th house of secrets, loss and self-undoing – his desires and secrets have caused his undoing.
Friendship with Jeffrey Epstein
Background
Andrew allegedly had a 12 year friendship, ending in 2011, with paedophile, child sex trafficker and wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein, who reportedly killed himself in jail on 10 August 2019 in New York. Epstein was a convicted sex offender who had connections with other powerful men including Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. It was reported that Andrew had sex three times with a 16-17 year old girl named Virginia Roberts (Giuffre) who was trafficked by Epstein. She claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew and that she was paid $15 000 by Epstein to keep her mouth shut. It is also reported that Andrew would stay with Epstein for days at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion and at his Palm Beach house. This is not a good look for Andrew, with any involvement with the girls, and lies or secrets, to be fully revealed.
Current situation
In January 2022, Andrew was the defendant in a lawsuit over sexual assault filed by Virginia Giuffre in New York State. He was also a person of interest in the criminal investigation into Epstein’s affairs. On 13 January 2022, his military affiliations and royal charitable patronages were returned to the Queen, as he defended the lawsuit as a so-called ‘private citizen.’ In February 2022 Andrew denied the allegations but nevertheless paid Giuffre what is believed to be approximately 12 million British pounds in a settlement. Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025, aged 41, on her farm in Western Australia.
On 17 October 2025, following the release of the above memoir, and in discussions with the King, Andrew ceased using his above titles, style, honours and knighthoods. Then on 30 October 2025, due to the continued controversy regarding Andrew’s association with Epstein, King Charles III began the formal process to remove Andrew’s style, titles, and honours and that going forward he is to be named Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Andrew was also served with formal notice to leave his home of more than two decades, Royal Lodge, which will likely occur in early 2026.
Andrew is no Prince Charming.
