Donald Trump, current and 47th President of the United States of America, was born on 14 June 1946 at 10:54am (EDT) in Jamaica, New York (please see natal chart below). He is 79 years of age at the time of writing.
Background – Natal chart
Trump’s Sun is in the Air sign of Gemini; a curious, chatty, communicative sign, which enjoys making connections with others and collecting data. Trump may be restless since Gemini is also a Mutable sign, indicating changeability, versatility and flexibility. His Sun is also closely aligned with the North Node in Gemini, denoting he was born at the time of an eclipse. Since his Sun opposes his Moon in the adventurous sign of Sagittarius, he was born at the time of a Lunar Eclipse. The eclipse is total given the proximity of the Nodal axis to the Sun and the Moon (within 9 degrees). The eclipse falls across the 11th (Sun)/5th (Moon) house axis, associated with friends, groups and alliances (11th) and children, sex, pleasure and creativity (5th). The Moon in Fiery, Mutable Sagittarius tends towards feelings of optimism and inspiration.
Eclipses are unstable, unpredictable ‘wildcards.’ Adding to this temperamental inconsistency, Trump’s Sun (and the North Node) are also conjoined with the planet Uranus (also in Gemini), planet of individuality, eccentricity, uniqueness and rebellion. Not surprisingly then, Trump can shock people with his words. This configuration plays out in his 11th house or area of life which represents career and public image.
Trump’s Sun is also the ruler of his Leo Ascendant, making it his Chart Ruler. The Ascendant is our persona and how we like to project ourselves into our environment. A Fiery Leo Ascendant denotes a person who comes across to others in a grand, confident, proud, creative and dramatic way. Warrior planet Mars is in his First House of life, beginnings, health and body, adding drive, assertion and impulsiveness in the way he meets the world. There is a lot of Fire and Air energy in this chart; ‘hot air’ and very ‘yang’ or active.
Most positive and most negative planet in the chart:
However, Mars is also the most difficult planet in his chart, since he has a ‘diurnal’ or day chart in the Hellenistic tradition where the natal Sun is above the horizon or ascendant. The basic nature of Mars is also to sever and separate, where relationships can be destroyed due to conflict, dominance and aggression.
Despite the feistiness of Mars, Jupiter is the most positive planet in a day chart. He has a basic nature of affirming and stabilising. Jupiter, ruler of his Sagittarian Moon, is in the peace-loving sign of Libra in the 3rd house of communication, travel, learning and siblings, thereby expanding this area of life. This means Trump has the ability to express expansion, growth and optimism with diplomatic qualities, in relation to matters related to communication. Neptune too in the 3rd can be communicating via ideals, dreams and fantasies, or even through deceitful means or being deceived, and having a ‘feel’ or using your intuition in regarding relating to others.
The 12th house
Trump’s 12th house of enemies, loss and confinement contains Mercury, his Ruling Planet – as ruler of his Gemini Sun, which is in Cancer. Therefore Trump’s method of communication is possibly to filter his ideas and words through his feelings and emotions. Venus (relationships, values, worth, money) is conjunct Saturn (authority, responsibility, control, rigidity, commitment, tradition) too in his 12th house, where denials and limits on affection and pleasure are common, and relationships are serious, controlled and disciplined. Love and time are also interlinked – if I spend time (Saturn) with you, it means I appreciate (Venus) you.
Lack of Earth element
Trump has no planets in Earth signs. When there is an imbalance in an element, we can project this element and attract people who are steadfast, practical, grounded and routine-oriented. Otherwise, we can repress, bury and deny this part of our nature, or compensate for this element by making it big in our lives.
Planetary trends in 2026
8th house Profection year
At 79 years old, the 8th house in the chart is activated for this year of life, and in Trump’s chart, Pisces is on the 8th house cusp. The traditional ruler of Pisces is Jupiter, therefore this planet is the ‘time-lord’ for the year until he turns 80 on 14 June 2026. The 8th house represents death, shared resources and finances, and other people’s money, such as inheritances, loans and debts. Jupiter has been transiting Cancer in his 11th house of friends, groups and allies, where he is Exalted, providing expansion, growth and opportunities or a benefit in this area of life. (Jupiter does not enter the sign of Leo until 30 June 2026, after Trump’s birthday).
Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 8th house (and 9th house)
However, planets Saturn and Neptune have been winding up their transits in this area of life, and will enter the more active sign of Aries in late January (Neptune on 26 January 2026 for a stay of 13 years, and Saturn on 13 February 2026 until April 2028). They are exactly conjunct on 20 February 2026 at 0 degrees, an occurrence which only happens every 36 years. Saturn traditionally rejects and excludes by nature, while Neptune clouds or fogs issues, and has a dreamy and dissolving influence. What (new) dreams are real and can be structured, and what are only illusions?
These two planets finishing up in Trump’s 8th house may represent an ending such as a divorce and the practicalities around a property settlement, or issues regarding taxes and insurances, with a dose of confusion or deception involved. The new 9th house ingress and subsequent conjunction could involve legal ramifications as law is a 9th house signification; beliefs, accumulating wisdom and how you understand the world, philosophies, higher education and the ‘higher mind.’
Mars transits
Since Mars is the most difficult planet in Trump’s chart, and can often be a trigger or spark for events, we can track his fiery movements in 2026 in relation to his chart. There is a Mars-Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries in April, from the 10 April until 18 May, and is most potent on 20 April 2026 when Mars and Saturn are conjunct at 7 degrees of Aries. This again falls in Trump’s 9th house of foreigners and long-distance travel, highlighting potential challenging, stressful issues around severing relations, delays, restrictions, missed details and general lack of clarity with overseas connections and foreign relations.
Mars will also conjunct a newly-entered Uranus in Airy Gemini at 3 degrees on 4 July 2026, Independence Day; a significant date in American history. We are currently in the 200 years of the Age of Air since Jupiter and Saturn conjoined at 0 degrees Aquarius in late 2020/2021. Drones and nuclear weapons come to mind as Mars, the God of War enters an Air sign, and Uranus rules air travel. This conjunction will fall in Trump’s 11th house of alliances, groups, social networks and friends, so he may need all the friends he can get during this time. The Russia/Ukraine and Israel wars are still going, while the outcome of Trump’s capture of the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is yet to manifest.
In November 2026 Mars conjuncts the South Node and Jupiter in Leo, in Trump’s First House. This configuration provides the buoyance and confidence (Jupiter) to go ahead (Mars) with plans. However, with the South Node here, some type of ending, letting go or release is a possibility during this time.
Mars square Saturn
Mars enters Cancer, sign of its Fall in August, which squares Saturn in its Fall in Aries, creating tension, difficulties and challenges in Trump’s life between his 12th house of enemies, confinement and loss and his 9th house of beliefs, long-distance travel, foreigners and foreign places. Trying to assert and progress (Mars) will be hindered and slowed down (Saturn).
Jupiter in Leo
Expansive Jupiter moves into the 1st house of mind, body and self on 30 June 2026. Coming out of the more secluded, behind the scenes, 12th house where internal work is done, this is a more extroverted house. One possibility is that Trump’s health may improve. The lesser benefic, planet Venus will conjunct Jupiter on 9 June 2026, which is auspicious for Trump if focussing on inner work, especially mental health, as Jupiter will still be in Cancer in his 12th house.
Venus Retrograde
Venus stations Retrograde in Scorpio on 4 October 2026 at 8 degrees, however she is in her sign of Detriment, and forms a T-Square with planetary ruler Mars in Leo, and opposes Pluto in Aquarius. This retrograde falls in Trump’s 4th house (home, family, living conditions) (then 3rd of communication and short-distance travel in Libra), and squares his 1st and 7th house axis of self and partnership. Maybe something will be revisited or reworked in relation to the First Lady, Melania. This is not easy energy, potentially creating a separation (Mars) over values and money (Venus), and involving power-struggles (Pluto).
Eclipses in 2026
The new series of eclipses starts in 2026 across the Leo-Aquarius axis.
There is a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, co-present with Mars and Pluto, ruled by Saturn, on 17 February 2026 at 28 degrees and 50 minutes. This initiates the new eclipse series across the Leo-Aquarius axis. This falls in Trump’s 7th house of relationships, partners, marriage, and other people. A new beginning is possible in this area of life, but it may not be a peaceful one with Mars in the mix.
The second eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse is in Virgo on 3 March 2026, at 12 degrees 54 minutes, closing out the Virgo-Pisces eclipse series. The Sun in Virgo opposes Mercury (and Mars) in Pisces, with Mercury Retrograde. Mercury is the ruler of the eclipse, however it is in its Fallen position in Pisces, making it difficult to be efficient and detail-oriented, and is co-present with separative Mars (the lesser malefic). This eclipse falls across Trump’s financial axis of the 2nd and 8th houses, highlighting an ending involving personal finances and possessions (2nd) and again, other people’s money (8th). Confusion and miscommunications (Mercury), even cutting arguments (Mars) are a possibility.
The first Solar Eclipse in Leo occurs on 12 August 2026 at 20 degrees and 02 minutes (and is co-present with Jupiter and the South Node). This falls close to Trump’s natal Mars at 26 degrees Leo, and his Ascendant at 29 degrees Leo. A Solar Eclipse has traditionally been connected with the removal of people in leadership, or ‘king-like’, positions. Records dating back to 4000BC recorded omens included that if there was an eclipse, the king will die. This may not mean a literal death, but could be a removal (for example due to ill-health) as the Moon obscures the Sun; the symbol of leadership. An event around this time could ‘eclipse’ Trump out.
