The Full Moon occurs at 14:47 (AEDT) on Tuesday 7 October, 2025. The Moon will be at 14 degrees and 08 minutes of the sign of Aries. The Sun will be at exactly the same degree in the opposite sign of Libra.

You may need to convert the date and time details into your time zone, which can be done here.

The sign of Aries by mode and element (Cardinal Fire):

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and also coincides with the Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere, signifying the start of Autumn (or Spring in the Northern Hemisphere). Aries is a Cardinal sign (along with Cancer, Libra and Capricorn). The Cardinal modality signifies the changes of the seasons. Cardinal energy is initiatory. Aries is one of the action-oriented starter signs that likes to, “get new things going.” The glyph or symbol is the ram’s head; going in ‘head-first’ and acting before thinking.

Aries is also one of the signs (along with Leo and Sagittarius) which is associated with the Fire element concerning inspiration, drive, optimism, energy and animation.

Aries is the sign of independence, and being pioneering, courageous, spontaneous, impulsive, assertive, self-motivated, direct and self-oriented. It is the sign of ‘me’.

Aries’ ruling planet: Mars

Aries is ruled by the Warrior planet Mars. (Mars also co-rules Scorpio). Mars is associated with daring, competition, anger, sexuality, being entrepreneurial, and active.

The sign of Libra by mode and element (Cardinal Air):

Since the Spring (or Autumn) Equinox on 23 September 2025 the Sun has been moving through the sign of Libra, which has the Scales as its symbol.

As noted above, Libra also has a Cardinal quality or mode. Libra is also one of the signs (along with Gemini and Aquarius) which is
associated with the Air Element concerning the rational mind, sharing ideas, knowledge, communication, abstract reasoning, logic and speech.

Libra is associated with balance, harmony, diplomacy, negotiation, mediation, grace, peace-loving, and being co-operative, sociable and companionable. It is the sign of ‘we’.

Libra’s ruling planet: Venus

Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. Venus is associated with love and affection, partnerships, marriages and unions or emotional contracts, art, aesthetics, beauty, appreciation, sensuality, money, our sense of values, and pleasure. Venus represents our social urge for harmonious relationships.

Full Moon aspects:

Thankfully we are now clear of eclipse season until February 2026.

During this current lunation, and Libra being the sign of balance, we can ask ourselves what in our lives may be out of balance and need re-balancing? The self-focussed Aries area may be where things need a re-balance in relationships. We might ask ourselves are we being fair, reciprocating where needed, and ensuring everyone’s needs are being met (Libra) without riding roughshod over others (Aries). Examine where you may be too self-oriented and headstrong versus accommodating others’ needs and feelings.

Have a look at the house axis this full moon falls across in your chart to see where a re-balancing might need to occur. For example, if it falls across the 2nd and 8th houses, the areas of your own earned money (2nd) and joint monies (8th) may need an adjustment. In this case, one person in a partnership might be earning most of the money and paying most of the bills, while the other doesn’t contribute as much, so a re-balancing in that area may need to happen.

Both the Sun and the Moon are making a square (90 degree) aspect by sign to Jupiter (the “greater benefic”) in his exalted sign of Cancer. The Moon is the planet or luminary which is the ruler of the sign of Cancer. Venus (the “lesser benefic”) is in Virgo and is moving into a sextile (60 degree) aspect to Jupiter. These are more positive aspects which indicate our being amicable and mindful of others’, and their feelings.

However, Mercury has just entered the sign of Scorpio and is moving towards Mars in the same sign. Mars in Scorpio is the ruler of the full moon, as it co-rules Aries, and traditionally rules Scorpio. Mercury will square Pluto in Aquarius, so be careful of manipulation, emotional control and arguments. Overall, while this is a positive full moon, especially after the intensity of the recent eclipses, the Mercury/Mars square Pluto is the only difficult aspect to be conscious of.
