Planets Saturn and Neptune will form a conjunction at 0 degrees of the cardinal fiery sign of Aries on 14 February 2026, perfecting on 20 February 2026 at 00 degrees and 45 minutes. Both planets move out of the mutable water sign of Pisces, and will be travelling close together throughout the year. This conjunction initiates a reset or new beginning – occurring at the first degree of the first zodiacal sign.

The last time these two planets came together their approximate 36 year cycle was in the sign of Capricorn in 1989 when the Berlin wall fell (9 November 1989), dissolving boundaries, ending the Cold War and allowing for something new collectively.

Saturn significations

The planet Saturn is the last visible planet, and the ‘ring past not’; the end, before the transpersonal planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were discovered. Saturn rules boundaries, form, limitations, restrictions, authority, structure, order, responsibility, commitment, tradition, convention and realism. It also rules time, patience, maturity and delays, being known as ‘Father Time’, associated with the Greek god Chronos.

Saturn in Aries is in its ‘Fallen’ position, opposite its sign of ‘Exaltation’, Libra, so it is debilitated here. Where fiesty Aries is concerned with the individual, and courageously going after what one wants, Saturn is slower and says, ‘not so fast.’ We need to be patient to get where we’re going.

Neptune significations

The planet Neptune is, in a lot of ways, opposite to Saturn. It has a dissolving influence on boundaries, and rules spiritual transcendence, delusion, illusion, confusion, fantasy, human interconnectedness and merging or “oneness”, universal love, connectedness, empathy, idealism, escapism, evasiveness, dreams, visions, intuition and the imaginative and creative arts.

An example of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction: How to use it in your chart

Firstly, find where your Aries house falls in your chart, as Neptune will be in Aries for the next 14 years (until 2039), and Saturn will transit the sign over the next 2.5 years, (until 2028). For example, I am a Pisces rising and have Aries on the second house cusp.

The second house rules finances, possessions, income and values, so I may need to be more careful in money matters, and using resources, providing structure and meaning to my time. Putting in the effort rather than escapism will ground my vision, even though self-worth may be tested. Fostering healthy boundaries around what is mine (2nd house), and what is held jointly with another (opposing 8th house) to avoid confusion and uncertainty, is also something to be mindful of.

I have Capricorn and Aquarius on the 11th and 12th whole house cusps being Saturn-ruled signs, so I may have some idealistic goals, and become involved with more creative, spiritual groups and friendships (11th house). Disciplined mental and spiritual health practices may increase, however there may be enemies in my midst, cloaked as friends. Places of seclusion are also covered by the 12th house, so being involved with people in jail or in hospitals might be part of this theme. Have a look at your own chart to see where these themes will play out:

The meanings of the 12 houses (or ‘places’ in Hellenistic Astrology):

1 – Self, body, character, appearance

2 – Finances, possessions, income, values

3 – Siblings, short trips, early school, communication

4 – Parents, home, family, private life

5 – Children, creativity, pleasure, sex

6 – Illness (physical), injuries, work, subordinates

7 – Relationships, partnership, marriage, ‘the other’

8 – Death, inheritance, others’ assets

9 – Travel, foreigners, education, religion

10 – Career, actions, reputation, public

11 – Friends, groups, hopes

12 – Enemies, sickness (mental), loss, seclusion

Aries 1 Decan – Two of Wands tarot card

The first 10 degrees of Aries is associated with the 2 of Wands tarot card, called the ‘Lord of Dominion’ by T. Susan Chang in her book, 36 Secrets. In this card we see a man looking out to sea, holding a globe of the world. With this card we can ask ourselves; what new worlds do we need to conquer? What new ground do we need to break, and how can we individuate? Is the new start we seek worth fighting for?
