On Tuesday 3 November 2026, The United States has its Midterm Election. Although the Republicans currently hold the majority of seats in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, they may just both turn blue.

Leo stellium and Moon in Virgo

On this day, Mars (19 degrees), Jupiter (24 degrees) and the South Node (26 degrees) are close together in Leo, the sign of leaders and kings, while the Moon, ruling the working public, is close to this stellium in the very early degrees of Virgo. The Moon is also forming a Yod (a 150 degree angle) with both Neptune in Aries (dissolving dreams), with Saturn (reality check) and Pluto (power) in Aquarius. The public may bring home a dissolution in Trump’s power, with new structures (Saturn) also emerging after the old ones dissipate (Neptune).

Transits to Trump’s ASC and MC

The South Node and Moon will be sitting on Donald Trump’s Ascendant (ASC) at 29 degrees Leo, and on his Mars in Leo at 26 degrees. This is a ‘releasing’ energy, and the Ascendant is how we present to the world, indicating that something will be ‘let go’ from Trump’s life, even a loss of pride (Leo). There could also be a health issue for Trump, as the first house is a house of vitality, or a physical health issue as Mars rules blood and inflammation. Mars/Jupiter could also denote overconfidence, and as this conjunction also tensely squares his Midheaven (MC) degree at 24 Taurus (ruling the 10th house of public standing) about a week later, it doesn’t bode well.

Mars as Time Lord

Interestingly, Trump’s Profection planetary ruler for this year is Mars, as he is in a 9th house profection year, which has Aries on the cusp; making Mars his Time Lord. Therefore any transits to his natal Mars will take on extra importance in his 80th year, and further indicates disputes about results. Trump won’t accept losing, he seems untouchable and will blame others, in that the ‘election was stolen’, ‘rigged’ or that ‘ballots were interfered with’, or, he may save face by resigning (possibly stating due to health issues) which will keep the result under his control. He won’t give in without a fight (Mars) whatever happens.

Sun in Scorpio, Mercury and Venus Retrograde

The Sun, the luminary ruling Leo, is in intense Scorpio at 11 degrees, with a Retrograde Mercury at 13 degrees of Scorpio. Venus is also travelling in reverse in one of her home signs, Libra, the sign of justice, fairness and equality. She unifies people so there could be crowds coming together to celebrate. There could however be an unexpected winner, or a dispute about the results and winners. A different course is definitely on the cards, although an outcome likely won’t be decided until after Mercury and Venus both go direct on 12/13 November.
